Grant Burge Filsell Shiraz

The 2011 Filsell Shiraz has an incredible depth of colour, with the vibrancy of youth adding purple hues to the deep, dark red. The nose displays a rare purity of fruit, with ripe blackberries and blackcurrants infused with lifted perfumes and rich vanilla and milk chocolate notes. The palate is beautifully weighted, with optimal balance between concentrated fruit flavours, sweet spices, tannins and acidity.

When a wine achieves such balance one glass is rarely enough; and this is no exception. For those with patience the 2010 Filsell can be confidently cellared for 12-14 years after release.

Partner it with aromatic dishes such as aged eye fillet with a red wine reduction or braised lamb shanks.
