Apollonio

At the helm of the company since 1995, Marcello and Massimiliano Apollonio are the fourth generation of the family.

Driven by enthusiasm and passion and by the experience they acquired in the field, they decided to pursue the ambitious goal of expanding their products beyond national borders.

Under new management, Apollonio has specialized in wine aging and expanded its retailing network. It has widened its range of wine products, with excellence as its objective.

Apollonio’s wines are now sold in 35 countries, where they are greatly appreciated as they tell the story of a family and a territory whose identities and authenticity have been left untouched.

Apollonio “Elfo” Primitivo Salento IGP

Region: Puglia
6 x 750ml

Grapes: Primitivo 100%

Production area: Salento, Apulia (ITA)

Vinification: Soft pressed to preserve the floral and fruity taste typical of the vine with seven days of must contact with the skins followed by another two weeks of fermentation at a controlled temperature in steel tanks where the refinement is completed. After three months of rest in steel, the wine is bottled.

Sensory features: Ruby red colour with intense violet reflections. In the bouquet you will notice black cherry, black pepper and dried flowers. It has powerful body with hints of plum and cherry, balanced with strong tannic notes and a pleasant fresh sensation. Harmonious and intense with warm mineral tones.

Best served with: Excellent in accompaniment to meat dishes (rabbit, veal, lamb) and medium to mature cheeses

Apollonio “Mani del Sud” Primitivo Di Manduria DOP

Region: Puglia
6 x 750ml

Colour: Deep ruby red.

Aromas: Intense and decisive aromas of black cherry jam and wild strawberries, elegant spicy liquorice notes.

Palate: Round in the mouth, with good structure, tannins are present but balanced, and the there is a return of those fruity notes of fruits preser- ved in alcohol already perceived by the nose.

Pairing recommendations: Barbecued meats, game, aromatic cold cuts and mature cheeses.
